How to buy property in Spain |
If you've
been dreaming about buying an ideal property in Spain you now need
to make plans to turn that dream into reality. The most important
point when buying real estate in Spain, or anywhere else, is to
know the market.
Without correct
and factual information you may not be able to get the best value
for your money.
Here are a few suggestions
on how to become knowledgeable about Spanish real estate offerings.
|
1. Seek information from a
variety of sources |
There are numerous
television shows on the subject, and books and magazines on the
market, as well as the Internet, which can be used to source relevant
information. You should explore these different methods and gather
as much important information as possible, in your own time and
from the comfort of your own home.
|
2. Use the Internet with caution |
The Internet
is very different from the more traditional resources because it
is very easy for anyone to set up a website and fill the pages with
misleading information.
The 'flashiest website' does not necessarily offer the best choices.
If you want information about local areas, we recommend you visit
the tourist information websites.
Experience has shown
that our clients need to be assured that we will listen to them
and find them the property that they want, in the location they
want, and at the best possible price.
|
3. Go to Spain,
take your time and look carefully |
In your quest
to find your ideal property you need to be relaxed and feel that
the people you are dealing with are listening to you and know exactly
what you want. It is also important that you make sure that they
know what kind of property you do not want.
What you don't want or need is to be part of an inspection trip,
where you are bussed around 'en masse' and subjected to presentations
and seminars from the 'hard selling, commission earning' sales team.
Anyone who has
attended a property exhibition in the UK will have experienced the
pressure from these sales teams. Don’t spend a lot of money
travelling to Spain only to end up in a hard-sell inspection tour,
touting the benefits of the 'Costa Lotta'.
Some of the property-finding services are free and others impose
a small charge, which is sometimes refundable upon the purchase
of a property.
But the great benefit
of using such companies is that they do all the legwork while you
relax.
The disadvantage of using this type of property search is that it's
not easy typing details and being in charge of the mouse, whilst
indulging in your favourite wine all at the same time. You have
to focus on business, despite the allure of Spain’s numerous
attractions :)
So take your time and make a careful but thorough search of the
real estate market in Spain. |
Good
luck in your property
search. |
