Is My Cat Having A Stroke?

Lately, my cat has been acting rather strangely. She was always a little bit of live wire, simply because she was a stray my husband brought home one evening, over ten years ago.

However, now, she seems very anxious. She runs around in circles, chasing her tail, hissing and snarling at herself and everyone around her. She sits in the corner and growls a throaty growl at no-one, and has taken to sleeping in some of the weirdest places such as up on the top of the cupboard, behind the fridge, on my scanner!

My friend said she thinks that my cat is having a stroke because when she was young her cat did exactly the same thing. I don't know. I've never seen any of the cats around the properties in benalmadena do this. Any hissing and screaming I assumed to be territorial defense by whichever cat had staked a claim to that particular area.

My husband, who adores our cat, said she'll be fine but I am not so sure. If it gets worse, I'll have to do something drastic. At the moment, it's impossible to go near her to even get her into a cat box so at worst case, the vet will have to come to me!

Luckily tonight, you would never know. She's been sleeping on the table quietly all evening, looking up only to purr at me whilst I scratch her head. Hmm.
